Mutual Care. 2022-2023.

Eastside Projects invited members to apply for a 6 month online space to share ideas, practices and concerns around art, ecology and climate justice. We shared work in progress to generate discussion.

Working with ink-dyed SCOBYs (Symbiotic Cultured Organisms of Bacteria & Yeast, used in fermenting) I explored ideas of mutual benefit for human and more-than-human. Dyed SCOBYs containing pressed plants of the dye source were returned to my allotment, nested amongst their parent plants and then buried to feed the soil and plants.
