‘Making Time’ explored how making with our hands can help us to make sense of our lived experiences; making time to look differently at the world, our place in it and to pause to reflect on it.
The residency was funded by Arts Council England from March - June 2018. I divided my time between working in my studio to make, reflect and prepare for activities at the hospice, and delivering weekly sessions at the hospice. I gave presentations, led workshops and worked 1-2-1 with patients and staff.
During July work made by patients, staff and in my studio was installed in and around the hospice as framed artworks, artefacts and interventions into the building and it’s work.
Birmingham St Mary's hospice have funded a further year of the residency to continue to explore the place of creativity within the organisation and its work.
